Eastern Kentucky Convenience Store Robbed At Gunpoint

VIRGIE, KY -- The Kentucky State Police is investigating an armed robbery Saturday at a convenience store in the Pike County community of Virgie.

A KSP report says the local post was called to the Valley IGA in Virgie about 3:00 p.m. Saturday after a call from a clerk working at the store.

The clerk told an investigating officer that a subject wearing a ski mask and armed with a small handgun came into the store and demanded money.

The clerk says the subject left the store with an as yet undetermined amount of money. Police say the suspect drove off in a blue Dodge Neon. Trooper Gary Sykes is the investigating officer.
