LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A fire that broke out during a bitterly cold morning has killed a person in Louisville.
Fire officials say the blaze was reported around 5 a.m. on Wednesday near Churchill Downs.
Firefighters reported heavy smoke as they arrived.
One person escaped the fire, but officials say they found another person dead in the home.
The temperature in Louisville was around 10 degrees with wind chills down to minus 12.
The name of the victim was not immediately available.
