Cold Temperatures Lead To Power Outages

The lights and heat are back on for thousands of people in Georgetown who lost power Wednesday morning.

Kentucky utilities officials say the city had two major power outages. One happened at five. the other at eight.

Crews were able to restore power in both cases within a few hours.

At one point, Georgetown's hospital was among the places without power, but it was able to use emergency generators.

KU officials say the cold temperatures likely caused both outages.
