Difficult Farewell For Lexington Based Marines

An emotional night In Lexington, as families say good by to their loved ones who are going overseas to serve their country.

Dozens of Marines from a Lexington-based unit left late Wednesday night for training in North Carolina before heading to Iraq.

The unit was notified of their deployment 6 months ago, but several of the soldiers are newlyweds and new parents, which makes their parting even more difficult.

The unit will spend 7 months in Iraq.
