Cross country run brings two men through the Bluegrass

Two men are running through the Bluegrass today as part of a cross country run.

22-year-old Adam Clark and 23-year-old Jeffrey Perez are running 3,000 miles from New York to California.

They arrived in Kentucky yesterday, and ran down Old Frankfort Pike in Lexington Tuesday morning.

Clark is running to raise awareness for "Shannon's Fight," an organization started to support people with rare cancers.

Perez is running for "Global Kids," a group that encourages volunteerism and education for young people.

The two men met while on the track team at Adelphi University.

They've traveled through 17 states already, and have been making their overnight stops at churches and public libraries.

They hope to make it to their final destination, Huntington Beach, California, by Thanksgiving.
