Early Tuesday morning, flames ripped through the basement of a Clark County Home.
Dogs barking in the night woke up neighbors, alerting them to danger next door. They then saw smoke, pouring out of the home on Amster Grove Road in Clark County.
Neighbors say Richard Adams, the man who lives in the home, left Monday morning on business. Fire crews say the flames may have started in the basement soon after he left. The smoke spread through the home, causing serious damage.
Neighbors say Adams will be devastated when he returns because he had just finished remodeling. Fortunately, nobody was hurt.
Firefighters say the official cause of the fire is still under investigation.
