Two Lexington police officers have been released from the hospital after their cruisers collided at a busy intersection.

The wreck happened late Tuesday morning at the intersection of Versailles Road and Red Mile Road.

Police say both cruisers were responding to a foot pursuit happening near downtown.

We're told both cars did have lights and sirens on at the time of the crash.

Police say Officer Michael Seabolt was traveling eastbound on Versailles Road and Sgt. David Marcum was headed north on Red Mile towards Forbes Road when they crashed.

Both Seabolt and Marcum were taken to UK Medical Center, from where they were released Tuesday night.

Stay out of prison and stop breaking the law and you wont have any problem with law enforcement. In other words, stick to your list.

ky mom said it best po po just wants attention.he probly dont have any friends since he dont like anyone.i would like to thank all of the brave police officers and all the brave men an women that serve our country and i thank popo for serving our country to an may god bless you all.and by the way i have a son that served in iraq but now he is a police officer and i am proud of him an all of the others no matter where they work.

I think I've narrowed down Po-Po's problem. The last time his family got together he didn't get to sit at the big table and noticed that everyone with a badge did. He feels left out, and somehow cheated. Po-Po you say you are appalled by stories of beatings, etc. Appalled enough to notify internal affairs? Strong enough to go to them? I don't mind that you wouldn't help a stranger in need, not everyone is that strong. I have worked with both the officers involved in this crash and I assure you neither would hesitate to help you anyway they can, everytime you call, even when they know some folks don't recognize help when they see it. Do a ride along, with an officer you're not related to, and compare how they act in the public eye with how they act in private. I bet you will be pleasantly surprised at the professionalism. Or are you strong enough to do that?

Anonymous, my dad was a cop and he was never there for me. Other people in other lines of work are also in danger. What if I fall off of the trash truck today at work? I could get hit by a car.

Posted by: Anonymous on Jan 11, 2008 at 12:05 PM
Earl and Po-Po have dumbed this discussion down too much, I'm out.

Posted by: N on Jan 11, 2008 at 10:52 AM
I can tell that po po is a joke. He does not get the connection that a real soldier and citizen like anonymous. You can tell in his posts that he is even jealous of him. You do not even know anonymous and yet he makes you feel insecure. When did this start in high school? Did you get turned down by the prom queen? let this stuff go. You are probably one of those guys that are like yea I would have got the silver star if and things like that. Do not be mad you are a 44C. Take pride in what you do.

Posted by: N on Jan 11, 2008 at 10:50 AM
Seems like a nerve has been struck with Popo be dmned. I knew he would claim to be an infantryman when he was called out on it. Kymom you are exactly right about this guy. I would hate to hear the war stories he tells in his daily job at Krogers or Lowes. There are two types of NG guys, guys who were active duty and want to stay active with the military. Most of them are fine upstanding men and women. They are very respectable people in our community. Lawyers, police officers, pharmacists, etc. Then the ones like popobdmnd. They want to get all the respect and do none of the work. Those guys work at Krogers and Lowes and tell everyone they were in Special forces etc. Unfortunately they give the others a bad name. Po po I know you type. You are still mad over high school. you probably dream you are going to win the silver star or something. You are a 44C if I ever seen one. you probably steal pot when you are c utting dope in the summer.

Anonymous, fast food workers do get killed and shot at their jobs. Watch the news and you will see it happens. There are no police officers standing in front of the bullets. People get robbed, beated, raped everyday the police get there AFTER it happens. I dont really understand why you people act like they stand in between and keep these things from happening. Sure police have a job that is important but so does everyone else. It keeps the world spinning. Their lifes are no more valuable then yours.

i can't believe two police cruiser hit each other and i am so sick and tired of hearing how law enforement is their life they are so deciated to protect and serve they were to busy running to get their nose in something that one could have taken care of law enforcement is just a job they get paid like all other employees and thats the reason i think this way is because its what they have shown me most officers i know are nosy and bullies they like to show off their authority and if they want respect they should show it and i am sure they would get it

Anonymous, thank you for your service, too, as well as the men and women protecting us (sometimes from ourselves) on the streets of Lexington. I know very well the sacrifices both of your professions make every day and appreciate it.

Anonymous: what has Iraq got to do with the police and what we are talking about? Nothing.....thats what. Seems as though I hit a nerve with you. Are you feeling guilty? I rode the Airport road in Irag as well buddy so don't get holier than though with me. A Company 1-69th Infantry New York National Guard. ;-) ;-)

Posted by: kymom Location: lex on Jan 10, 2008 at 03:11 PM
First of all, let's all thank Po-Po for all of his bravery for being in the National Guard. It sounds to me like maybe he's a little jealous and needs a group hug. He's probably one of these people who wear their uniform daily no matter where they go so that they will look important. I respect ALL people who put their lives at risk for our safety. Yes, there may be a few bad apples here and there, but that shouldn't keep us from showing the rest of them the utmost respect they deserve! To VICKIE and KSP GIRL, please tell your family members "thank you" from the one who really appreciate all of the hard work they do. Don't pay any attention to the idiots who get on here and just try to get an arguement going. Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to go to Kroger and watch all of the excitement of the baggers putting their lives on the line to make sure my milk is put correctly in the bag.

Posted by: Ky on Jan 10, 2008 at 03:07 PM
Anonymous you took the exact same words out of my mouth. He is what gives the the National Guard a bad name. I know he was never in Iraq or Afghanistan or he would have found a way to put that in his message. Ky National Guard does have some brave men and women. A woman who won the silver star and another Sgt who won the Distinguished Service Cross. Dont belittle the Ky National Guard by making your assocation known. Anonymous I bet he will say he was 11 Bravo or some other combat MOS now that you called him out on it. I bet he hates all active duty guys. He still hates jocks & cheerleaders from high school. He probably hates someone else getting recognition. I will not let one REMF change the HIGH opinion I have of the Ky National Guard.

@KSP Girl Location: SE KY Now whos the arrogant one? Guess you been spared the story of beating drunks and offers to let people go minus their drugs if tehy just tell who they got it from? Btw cops are in the top 5 for suicides. Around the same number for dentists and Dr's. WOnder why that could be?

I honestly can't believe some of the comments you guys make online! I am a Christian. I don't go putting others down for the wonderful jobs they do every day to help us. My stepfather's nephew, Sgt. David Marcum, is one of the officers that was in the crash. I hope those of you who hate law enforcement officers don't have kids or nieces/nephews. You will be giving them the wrong example. Law enforcement officers not only do their jobs they go out of the way to educate our kids in schools in the DARE program, shop with a cop, etc. Accidents like this will happen. If you are one of the one's putting law officers down I hope you don't ever need one when the time comes.I sure don't want my kids getting the wrong ideas by hearing these negative comments. I wish the two officers a speedy recovry and thank them for what they did that day .

Posted by: Anonymous on Jan 10, 2008 at 10:49 AM
Po-Po BDMND, my rose colored glasses are laying beside Route Irish in Baghdad where I threw them away. Don't preach to me about taking care of myself and what kind of respect you have for law enforcement. I couldn't give a (edited) what respect or problems you have. If you ever put your life in jeopardy for someone else, you'd have some kind of understanding of what these officers feel everyday when they leave for work. Based on your statements, I can't help but say that you're probably some POG that was never deployed, at least to a combat zone. Earl- How many burger flippers were killed last night trying to keep the roads in Bell Co safe?

Posted by: KSP Girl Location: SE KY on Jan 10, 2008 at 10:06 AM
As a wife, daughter, and niece of KSP officers, I would like to APPLAUDE KYMOM for her comments. Unless you've been there, you have NO idea what these officers go through every day. The ones with negative comments are either ones that have been on the 'wrong' side of the law, or call 911 EVERY time the wind blows, then complain that officers are always doing senseless stuff. Get a life...and a job!

Posted by: bill Location: kentucky on Jan 10, 2008 at 09:31 AM
dis-band cops, we don't need them, they eat up the budget and every-time you turn around one is busted for being dirty, let the people protect their-selves. i'm for the people of the people and don't believe in law enforcement officers. these cops was reckless and could have killed a innocent person. so explain why we should keep these reckless cops.

Anonymous: Where did you read in my post's that I blame the cops for my problems? I have Lex PD in my immediate family as well as KSP officers and I can tell you through family holidays and gatherings I have been appalled at the stories I have heard over the years from these guys/gals about beatings and contraband they have confiscated and kept. My career in the Kentucky National Guard brought me in contact with a variety of Law Enforcement throughout the State and after listening/observing them, I have 0 respect for the law. By the way, if you are counting on Law Enforcement to save you or take care of you during a crime, you are not going to fare well, I suggest you take care of yourself instead of waiting on them, it may be a while before they respond. You people need to throw out those rose-colored glasses you are wearing. lol!

Nascar drivers wreck. Pilots wreck. ANYTHING that has a human input into the operation is going to fail. Even space shuttles crash. What is your point?

Posted by: Amazed on Jan 9, 2008 at 09:33 PM
Most people have no idea what it takes or means to be an officer/deputy/trooper. It is more than a job it is a lifestyle. The job becomes you. As Fred said they do not have to do their job. That is correct. Just like our brave men and women overseas do not have to be there. But what would this country be like if we did not have people who sees beyond what they have to do. Some people like to sit on the sidelines. Some people try to make a change or stand for something. (edited)

Earl, you said a mouthful!

Posted by: VIckie Location: Lexington on Jan 9, 2008 at 07:27 PM
OH COME ON, EARL!!! Yes, everyone has risks in their occupation, heck, we all take a risk just by walking out the door each day, but the last time America's Most Dangerous Occupations list came out, I didn't see "grocery store baggers" on it. And by the way, I did not mean to imply that cops are more important to their families than anyone else is to theirs. Please don't put words into my mouth. It is just that I am sick and tired of so many people in our society who have had even one bad experience with police officers that they develop the attitude that it is their duty to ridicule at every opportunity. Hope you never need a police officer's help.

Well I was on Versailles Rd when this incident happened yesterday. I even seen when the lil boy was being chased on High and Jefferson and by the time we got to Versailes Rd, there was cop cars coming form everywhere and they were not taking precautions because they were makeing u-turns in the middle of Versailles Rd. We seen the cruisers wreck just as we were passing Redmile Rd. They need to be thankful that it wasn't a civilian car that they hit then they would really be in trouble.

Posted by: Wow Location: Richmond on Jan 9, 2008 at 03:43 PM
Once again Enas fails to catch the Dukes. Absolute power corrupts absolutly. Thought cops were supposed to be better drivers? For some reason they go through alot of cars every year.

Posted by: Earl Location: Frankfort on Jan 9, 2008 at 03:07 PM
Lets thank the McDonalds workers who everyday risk burning theirselves for our big macs. Lets pray for the grocery store workers how put their lives in danger everyday to load our cars with our food. Lets get down on our knees and pray for the truck drivers who risk their lifes everyday to bring us goods. Come on folks, every job has its dangers and cops are no more important to their families then anyone else is to theirs. The police do their JOB just like everyone else and just like any other job some deserve respect, some dont.

Posted by: Anonymous on Jan 9, 2008 at 02:36 PM
SR- Why do you think PO PO always wears that red cape under his flannel shirt? When the day comes, he's ready...oh yeah!

Posted by: kymom Location: lex on Jan 9, 2008 at 01:07 PM
Po-Po, you po-po, small minded person. It's people like you who have no respect for the law or anybody else. You most certainl do have the right to express yur opinions any way you want. And do you know why?! Because of "big folks behind a badge and a gun" that fight to give you the right to do so! You may not have to respect the person, but you need to respect the roll! I'm sure you just don't have to nerve to do what they do and it sounds to me like you're just jealous! To VICKIE, please thank your husband for all of the hard work he has done for us and tell him to also thank all of his fellow worker the same. We truly do appreciate all they do!

Posted by: SR Location: Lexingto on Jan 9, 2008 at 12:25 PM
WOW PO PO that is pretty harsh. There are a handful of officers who probably have that attitude but in reality they are there to serve and protect us. Not that I care why you feel that way but one day you or someone you love will need help, who will you call then?

Posted by: Po-PoBDMND Location: Lex on Jan 9, 2008 at 11:43 AM
Anonymous: Why would I need a hug and where in any of my posts did you read that I blamed the cops for any of my so-called problems? I have merely expressed MY opinion. I speak from experience on this matter as I have serveral members of my family that are in the Lex. PD as well as the State Police. I have served with memebers in Law Enforcement during my career in the Kentucky National Guard and I am not sorry that I have have a severe disdain for Law Enforcement. I only feel bad for people that can't seem to take off the Rose colored glasses when speaking about the police. Welcome to the real world.

Posted by: Anonymous on Jan 9, 2008 at 10:01 AM
Po-PO BDMND, do you need a hug? You sound like you may have some emotional issues. Would you like to talk about them? Don't blame the cops for your problems.

these officers do a great job we need to respect them thanks

Posted by: Po-PoBDMND Location: Lex on Jan 9, 2008 at 08:03 AM
kymom, we can express our opinions any way we like and I don't really care how you feel about the situation. Do you understand that?!! I don't like cops and never have, they are an egotistical bunch and think they are way above any and all. Big folks behind a badge and a gun, they are no better than anyone else except in thier own minds.

Posted by: Susie Location: Lexington on Jan 9, 2008 at 05:31 AM
I think we need to say a prayer for these officers and their families. These men and women put their life on the line everyday to protect the people who have made the stupid comments. I think it would be interesting to see the police record of the people who made the stupid comments.

Posted by: rescue Location: morehead on Jan 9, 2008 at 04:50 AM
It would be safe to say that one of the two was in the wrong. As an emergency worker myself, we still have laws and rules to follow and have to take public safety into consideration. I do hope the officers are well and will use this to educate others.

Posted by: Mandy Location: Lexington on Jan 9, 2008 at 12:04 AM
And I would love to say that you are probably one who has in fact, spent a day or two in jail and have no respect for the duty the officers have. I am sure that if you or one you loved was being robbed, raped, or abused, you would appreciate the quick response Lexington Metro has. And if not, you are probably the ones raping, robbing, and abusing those who can not protect themselves. Take a minute to think what it would be like to be in their shoes. They show so much pride in the work they do and helping others is what makes them the most proud. I am sure they could care less about putting a drunk in jail, but to help an injured child or anyone is what they are in the business for. I said a prayer and I say one everyday for those I love who proudly wear the uniform so many have little respect for.

Posted by: Katie on Jan 8, 2008 at 11:49 PM
I would like to thank the entire LFUCG PD for their sincere kindness and compassion shown to the families of the officers injured in the crash. The residents of Lexington should be proud of their Police Officers, and other emergency response workers. These people put their lives on the line for us each and every day, with tremendous courage, sacrifice and integrity. The officers involved in this accident are both highly commendable, dedicated individuals. Both the officers, and their family and friends need our prayers and thoughts in this time of need. No one truly appreciates the duties, risks and responsibilities each and every Police Officer encounters every day. We should all be thankful for the people who serve and protect us each and every day. Again, thank you to the officers whom showed the families the utmost kindness, thoughtfulness and support at the hospital . Your sincere compassion did not go unnoticed.

I cannot believe that some people have the audacity to sit and judge someone or something they know nothing about. I am the wife of a 22 year veteran of the Lexington Police Department. There have been too many times when one of our friends(my husband included) has come home after a long shift and said a prayer of thanks for having one more day on earth. No one else wants to put on a bulletproof vest, walk down a darkened alley or into a dark building not knowing what is around the next corner. They do it to protect you everyday. You morons make me sick, and I hope and pray someday you'll realize what brave men and women we have to protect us in Lexington and that includes you jerks out there who have nothing better to do than to sit and make fun of people willing to do the job no one else wants to do.

Posted by: Anonymous on Jan 8, 2008 at 09:09 PM
Kate and KYmom, don't worry about it. We're used to morons like this. I'm sure they don't like the cops because they've been arrested for something or other (I'm sure they won't admit it though), or they wanted to be a cop when they were little and they didn't make it (although they'll write that they're a doctor or lawyer). It's just one unfortunate part of the job. Obviously, something did go wrong in this situation, but hopefully these officers are OK and they'll learn something from it. I'm sure if they were responding to a call to help one of the morons it wouldn't be as funny to them though.

Posted by: Earl Location: Ashland on Jan 8, 2008 at 06:39 PM
The next time you need one of these guys, don't call them. Take care of the problem yourself. Looks like some of you people are talking out of your butts instead of appreciating the job theses men and women do. I doubt you have the B---S to do the job.

Posted by: loyal citizen Location: lexington on Jan 8, 2008 at 05:36 PM
making fun of our police is shameful.you should do a ride along with an officer if you are not a felon!!!!!!!

Posted by: Fred Location: Lexington on Jan 8, 2008 at 04:59 PM
These officers don't HAVE to do that job. If they don't want the risk, quit and find something else to do. Respect is a two way street...

Posted by: Virgil Edwards Location: Richmond/Irvine on Jan 8, 2008 at 04:49 PM
The old saying goes and this goes for police fire and EMS, they drive too fast when they are driving by or around you but when they are coming to help you they drive way too slow. These emergency vehicles have lights & sirens for a reason. The Law dictates that when police have their emergency system activated that other motorists must yield to them by pulling over to the right. When fire and EMS have theirs activated it is a requested right of way. I don't know what happened here but as an ambulance driver and volunteer firefighter I see motorists every day not know what to do or how to react to lights & sirens so that forces law enforcement ETC. to make perhaps some ill advised maneuvers to get around those who freak out or perhaps maliciously don't get out of their way. I hope they make a quick recovery from this.

Posted by: Chuck Lees Location: Lexington on Jan 8, 2008 at 04:32 PM
My thoughts and prayers are with the officers involved in this accident. They are also with the families of these officers. We do not appreciate the job they do and I stand ready to help them in their hour of need, too. May God richly bless and continue to protect our men and women of law enforcement that serve us so very well in our community.

Posted by: A Location: Lexington on Jan 8, 2008 at 04:31 PM
I wish these officers a speedy recovery. I appreciate all they do to protect us. They are humans. Accidents happen.

Posted by: To KY MOM on Jan 8, 2008 at 04:25 PM
I wouldn't dare say that all police officers follow traffic regulations when driving. I have been passed many times on the interstate by a police officer going over 90 miles an hour without any lights or sirens. That is dangerous. I don't want anyone to get hurt but if they would've hit a pedestrian instead of each other then whose fault would it have been. The best way is to call things how you see them. What I see here are two police officers that collided therefore something must have went wrong or this wouldn't have happened. Don't you agree?? I think with law enforcement you call off a pursuit if the pursuit comprimises yours or someone else's well-being. I would say this meets the definition.

Posted by: kymom Location: lex on Jan 8, 2008 at 03:59 PM
I would like to see any of you morons that have the nerve to make those insensitive and stupid comments spend one just one day having to do what these officers do to keep us safe. You are probably the same people who get out on the roads and drive like you're the only ones on the road and get frustrated when there's an accident that may make you a few minutes late for your tee time or other stupid appointment. Grow up start showing some respect for the people who are working and putting their lives at risk to keep you safe. I pray these officers were not seriously injured and make a full recovery.

Posted by: Randy Location: Lexington on Jan 8, 2008 at 03:57 PM
I don't see any "make fun of"...these are very accurate views of our law enforcement.

Posted by: To Kate on Jan 8, 2008 at 03:54 PM
All I can say is sounds like someone did follow traffic laws such as yielding.

Posted by: Anonymous on Jan 8, 2008 at 03:35 PM
I would say more like the Dukes of Hazard with Rosco and Enos. LOL

Posted by: Kate Location: Lexington on Jan 8, 2008 at 03:07 PM
This was a very serious accident and is nothing to make fun of. Both officers were injured in this crash and their condition is unknown. Perhaps you'll take a moment to say a prayer instead of making stupid comments. I know I did.

Posted by: surprise.. Location: lexington on Jan 8, 2008 at 02:45 PM
they don't pay attention to traffic laws as it is, expecting drivers to part like the Red Sea when they approach (without an emergency), so it was only a matter of time before two of the same type of "privilege" crossed paths...
