Money Missing From Union, Firefighter Under Investigation

The members of the Scott County branch of the International Association Fire Fighters are facing a problem none of them expected they'd ever have to; that one of their own has stolen from them.
Officials with the local IAFF say that a man who wore the uniform, and worked alongside them, misappropriated a large some of money from their union.
On the national level the IAFF: provides insurance, acts as a credit union and pushes for better fire fighter and EMS benefits.
The loss of this money could possibly affect some of that.
The IAFFs local president declined to comment in person, but told 27 newsfirst during a phone conversation the IAFF as well as the Kentucky State Police are investigating this theft, and that the man who allegedly betrayed the trust of his brothers, is no longer with the department.
The name of the man accused of the theft is not being released, nor is the amount of money that is missing.
