Former UK Coach May Be Interested In High School Coaching Job

A former UK football coach may soon be coaching again in the bluegrass, but in a whole new arena.

There are reports today that former wildcat coach Guy Morriss may take a high school job at one of the area's premiere programs.

Larry Vaught was quoted in Wednesday's Danville Advocate Messenger saying Morris will talk to Boyle County officials on Thursday about their head coaching vacancy.

Morriss succeeded Hal Mumme at UK and then left for Baylor after he just two seasons. Then, after five seasons in Waco and just 18 wins in 58 games, Morriss was fired back in November.

He's currently at the annual coaches convention where Vaught says he's talked with college and pro teams about openings they have and is set to talk with more college teams.

Morriss and his wife, Jackie, bought a farm in Boyle County that they still own.

Boyle county officials told the Advocate Messenger that if all went well, they hoped to have a news conference on Friday, but another source says that Morriss was scheduled to be at a stock show in Texas on Thursday, looking at horses.
