NWS Confirms Tornado Touchdown

Officials with the National Weather Service were in Barren County on Friday to determine if a tornado touched down there.

Officials now say an EF-1 tornado touched down. They say the tornado made a path about four miles long, but the damages wasn't very widespread because the tornado would raise up off the ground then dip back down. Much of the damage, they say, was caused by straight line winds.

The storm damaged a house, blew over a barn and destroyed a mobile home.

The line of storms that passed through the state Thursday night sparked several tornado warnings, but no other major damage was reported.
