Judge Rules High School Basketball Standout Can Stay In School

A judge did not revoke the bond of a former Scott County basketball player at a hearing, Tuesday morning.

Prosecutors say Bud Mackey violated the terms of his release by enrolling in an Ohio high school. The judge agreed, but chose not to send Mackey to jail.

Instead, the court put new restrictions on his bond, which allow him to stay in school in Ohio.

Mackey is charged with drug possession. Police say he showed up at school last year with crack in his shoe. He was a member of last year's state championship Cardinals basketball team.
