Central Kentucky Men Arrested For Tree Thefts

Two Madison County men are accused of stealing more than two dozen trees in the county in broad daylight.

The Richmond Register says 22-year-old Murphy Franklin and 22-year-old Phillip Wells are facing felony charges.

They are accused of driving around with a truck and chainsaw and cutting down nearly 10 thousand dollars worth of black walnut trees from five different locations.

The sheriff says he got a tip from someone who spotted the logs being hauled to Richmond.
