Danville police are searching for a man who tried to break into a home Wednesday morning.

Police say the man, who lives at the home on Shawnee, opened the door to let his dog out and a would-be intruder knocked him down.

We're told the homeowner's dog bit the man and he then ran from the home.

Police searched the area, even knocking on doors to see if neighbors had witnessed anything.

But so far, they've not made any arrests.
