Technology Brings Newborn's Delivery To Marine Dad In Iraq

While witnessing a child's birth is an incredible experience for any family, for one Central Kentucky Marine and his wife, their daughter's arrival was especially spectacular as they were able to share the moment from thousands of miles away.

Kristen Powell gave birth to little Bailey Mae at Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville Wednesday afternoon. Proud new dad, Andrew, watched the delivery from more than 7,000 miles away in Iraq.

Kristen tells 27NEWSFIRST she asked the hospital if they could bring a webcam into the delivery room. She says she knew the request was a longshot, but the hospital brought everything together. Even though the technology only cost a hundred dollars, the Powells say the joy it brought their family is priceless.
