Some controversy tonight in one central Kentucky city, and it all has to do with basketball.
Many kids in Nicholasville are used to shooting hoops from the street. But now, some officials are questioning just how safe that is.
They say it's a safety issue. There's a proposed ordinance that could ban the goals from being placed too closed to streets.
But it seems unenforceable for now. City leaders say they're getting many complaints from drivers, who are upset with the homeowners who put up the goals, and the kids who play at them.
For now, at least, the issue of safety is left with the kids and their parents.
Nicholasville city commissioners say the proposed ordinance will likely come up again at a future meeting, but they're not sure when.
