Statue Of Barbaro Stirs Up Controversy

An artist in New York plans to unveil a controversial statue of Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro.

The statue depicts the fallen horse on his back, after his deadly accident in the Preakness in 2006.

A New York art gallery plans to unveil the statue in April, to raise awareness for legislation urging mandatory disclosure of race-related horse injuries and fatalities.

Barbaro's co-owner, Gretchen Jackson, said the memorial doesn't bother her, but it's, "not the kind of thing you'd really want to see."
