During Monday night's state of the merged government address, Lexington Mayor Jim Newberry said the city must plan on growth and the future.
Mayor Newberry said the state of the merged government is more promising now than one year ago-- but good is not good enough.
He also says Lexington cannot put a limit on the people that come here.
Mayor Newberry also said he will focus on education. He plans to ask the city council to fund scholarships for Lexington high school graduates who wish to major in math and science.
