Governor Beshear To Talk Cuts During Budget Address

Governor Steve Beshear will talk cuts and plenty of them in Tuesday night's budget address to a joint session of the general assembly.

The governor is expected to get into specifics about how the state will tighten its belt.

He's expected to say that nothing, including education, can be spared completely from the cuts.

Beshear has said Kentucky is in a budget crisis and is in a budget shortfall of nearly $900 million over the next two years.

Beshear has already ordered three-percent cuts in all state agencies and public universities for the current fiscal year.
