Burkesville Man Struck By Car Near Albany; Flown To U. K. Hospital

ALBANY, KY -- A Burkesville (Cumberland County) man was struck and seriously injured by a passing motorist Saturday on U. S. 127 in Clinton County.

Kentucky State Police say the accident occured shortly after noon Saturday two miles north of Albany.

A KSP news release says 55-year old Donald W. Godby was refueling his pickup truck on the southbound side of the highway when he was struck by a sedan driven by 50-year old Calvin Antle of Albany.

Godby was flown from the scene by air ambulance to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Godby was listed in serious condtiion as of late Sunday morning.

Antle, who was seatbelted at the time of the collision, was taken to Clinton County Hospital where he was treated and released.

KSP Trooper Toby Young is investigating the apparent accident. Young was assisted at the scene by KSP Trooper David Long and the Clinton County Sheriff''s Department.
