People Protest At Hearing For Suspected DUI Driver

The case against an eastern Kentucky man facing murder charges in connection with a deadly crash has been sent on to the grand jury.

Police say 53-year-old Russell Gray was driving drunk last month, when he hit a car in Clay County.

17-year-old Brandi Napier died. Her fiancee, 20-year-old Eugene Henson, was critically injured. He's still at UK Hospital, but his condition is improving.

Friends and family of both Napier and Henson showed up at the hearing on Monday to watch what happened.

Police testified on Monday that Gray was drunk when he slammed head-on into the car carrying Napier and Henson on Highway 11 near Manchester.

Gray is charged with murder and first degree assault.

For the time being, Gray is being held in jail on a one million dollar bond. He has already pleaded not guilty.
