Baby Found Abandoned Inside Van

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Police have been searching for the parents of a newborn baby found inside a van near a church in
Hopkinsville.
A church worker found the baby Sunday afternoon in a van
belonging to the First Street Baptist Church. Police said the baby boy was asleep with a pacifier and wrapped in a blue blanket. Police said the baby was only a few hours old.
Kentucky law allows a parent to leave a baby, less than 72 hours
old, with a hospital emergency room staff worker, a police officer at a police station, a firefighter at a fire station or an emergency medical services provider.
If the parent doesn't contact the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services within 30 days, the parental rights will be terminated.
