Members of the Berea community came together Friday night to help a family heal.
Since 16 year-old Dustin Scalf died two weeks ago in a car crash, his family has been struggling financially to pay for his funeral expenses
On Friday, members of the community and several musical groups decided the best way to lift the financial burden off the family's shoulders would be to have a benefit concert.
The event was pepped with old southern gospel favorites, as well as songs of comfort for the grieving family.
During the event, a collection was taken to help cover some of Scalf's funeral expenses.
Scalf's sister Johnna Smith says the family needs about $7,000 dollars to be free of funeral debt.
There's was no word on how much money was raised Friday night.
