Hardwick was the object of a search most of the day after an early morning shooting in northern Pulaski County that seriously injured a Science Hill area man.

Authorities say on Saturday at 2:40 AM the Pulaski County 911 Center received a call of a shooting at 262 Shannon Drive Science Hill, KY. Hardwick had hidden inside the residence and waited for her to return home.

The Sheriff's Office says Ms. Hardwick returned home n the early morning hours with a male companion, James Tholland, who found Hardwick hidden in the master bathroom. Hardwick shot Tholland multiple times with a handgun and then fled the area on foot.

Ms Hardwick was able to escape to a neighbor’s residence and was not injured in the attack, according to the news release.

The Sheriff’s Department’s K9 unit was called to the scene and tracked the suspect for a time but lost the scent along the Norfolk-Southern train tracks.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Elijah Hardwick, 34, 2436 Hwy 790 Bronston, KY charging him with burglary 1st degree and assault 1st degree. He is described as 5’11”, 155 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Hardwick is considered armed and dangerous and the public should not try to apprehend him.

Anyone with information on the location of Hardwick is asked to contact the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department at (606) 678-5145.
