An investigation is underway after two bodies were found inside a Shelby County apartment.
The discovery was made Friday afternoon in Simpsonville.
Police say a neighbor complained to the property owner about a foul odor coming from the apartment.
When police went inside, they say they found the bodies of a 53-year-old man, and a 52-year-old woman.
Police do not suspect foul play at this time.
They say both the man and the woman had medical issues.
Police believe the bodies had been in the apartment for several weeks.
Autopsies have been scheduled for Saturday.
