Police Crack Down On Commercial Vehicles On Interstates

Starting Wednesday morning, police will be out in force across Kentucky with a new "safe driver" blitz.

The blitz will especially focus on commercial drivers.

Officials say there were more than eight thousand commercial vehicle crashes in Kentucky in 2007. Vehicle enforcement officials hope to reduce that number by focusing on one day of non-stop awareness and enforcement of safe driving in and around commercial vehicles.

Police will focus their efforts on interstates around the state. Police will be cracking down on speeding, reckless driving, and careless driving.
