County On Alert; Pets Being Terrorized

Frankfort police are actively searching for a pellet gun shooter. Two wounded cats were found along Glenn's Creek road in Frankfort this week by animal control.

The first cat found suffered a broken leg and had the pellet still lodged inside her when she was taken to the Frankfort Vet Clinic.

Dr. Jonathon Mangin says, thanks to a kind-hearted woman who felt sorry for the cat, the $800 bill for surgery was paid for and the woman took the injured cat home.

The second tabby cat was found just 5 days later in the same area, also with pellet gun wounds. He's still recovering from skin and muscle tears.

Commonwealth's Attorney Larry Cleveland says if caught, the people responsible for the shootings could spend a year in jail and pay $500 in fines.
