Power restored in Versailles

On one of the hottest days of the year, some people in Versailles were without power.

Kentucky Utilities officials say as of 11:30 p.m. Thursday night, less than 1,000 customers in the downtown Versailles area did not have power.

When the power outage was first reported Thursday afternoon, nearly 1,200 customers did not have power.

They say three fuses have blown, knocking out electricity. They say the outage is due to equipment failure, and is not due to the heat.

Powers was restored to all customers around 3:00 a.m. Friday morning.
