Even though parts of Lexington received rain Tuesday night, firefighters say the city's ban on personal fireworks will remain in effect for now.

Lexington firefighters say large parts of the city did not receive any rain at all on Tuesday, so they've decided to keep the ban in place.

Firefighters say they will continue to monitor the situation daily.

Once they feel conditions are favorable again, they will lift the personal fireworks ban.

The ban does not impact public fireworks displays in Lexington, which already have permits. Those will go on as scheduled.
