Emergency crews have now cleared the scene after a meth lab was discovered in Clay City.
Police arrested 41-year-old Joseph Carpenter and his wife, 35-year-old Valerie at the scene. They are both charged with manufacturing Methanphetamine. Investigators say other charges could follow.
Police say their 14-year-old son and 18-year-old daughter were at the Daniel's Branch home and are now with relatives.
Trooper Jerry Perkins discovered the lab in a bathroom of the home after a tipster contacted officers saying children were at home while their parents were making meth.
After his exposure to the lab, Perkins complained of eye and throat irritation and was rushed to the hospital in Clark County. He was released overnight.
State police say everyone who was inside the home had to be de-contaminated once the haz-mat teams got there.
Joseph and Valarie Carpenter are scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday morning. In the meantime, they are being held in the Powell County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.
