FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Gov. Steve Beshear says he is removing
barriers in the application process to restore voting rights for convicted felons.
Felons who have served their sentences will no longer have to pay a fee, write an essay or secure recommendations to obtain the right to vote.
Beshear said the new policy would simplify the process that had
become unwieldy and time-consuming.
