A cat who survived being shot three times, and hit by a car, is now back with his owners.

The woman who rescued the cat, in Magoffin County, tells WKYT his owners in Berea stepped forward to claim him.

Those owners say the cat, whose name is Sam, got car sick, then ran off after the owners pulled over.

We're told the cat is now doing better.
