Police Crack Cold Murder Case

Lexington Police clear a 19-year-old cold case.

Mario Boyd was gunned down outside T.D.'s Bar back in 1988.

Wednesday, police announced the perpetrator is Joseph E. Jackson. Jackson committed suicide last year, therefore, no charges can be placed.

The family of Mario Boyd says even though the man accused of killing Mario won't serve any jail time, they still are at peace knowing who killed him.

The cold case was part of a task force put together by Commonwealth's Attorney Ray Larson and Lexington police.
