BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WKYT) - The "American Idol" bus rolled into Kentucky Friday, looking for stars.
More than 1,000 people showed up at Bowling Green's Fountain Square Park to audition for the hit show.
Bowling Green was on the list of "American Idol's" small town auditions tour.
Producers say of the ten small towns they have been to so far, the Bowling Green audition had the largest turnout.
Producers said they enjoyed being in Kentucky when "Idol" auditions were held in Louisville a few years ago, and they were excited to return to the Bluegrass State.
Some people showed up as early as 11 p.m. Thursday, to wait for their turn to audition. The line grew longer through the night.
Auditions didn't begin until Friday morning.
The 12th season of "American Idol" will begin airing in January.
