KSP, Clay County Deputies Bust Bootleggers

MANCHESTER, KY. - Kentucky State Police and the Clay County Sheriff’s Department have busted a bootlegging operation near Manchester.

A KSP News Release states that troopers were called late Friday evening to investigate a complaint of bootlegging at 3537 Highway 472 in Clay County.

Officials say an undercover officer made a purchase of alcoholic beverages. Authorities say that 57-year old Dianna Turner of Manchester was arrested and charged with the "Illegal Sale ... of ... alcohol in a dry territory, first offense."

Police say 34-year old Richard Turner of Manchester also was arrested in the incident and charged with iIllegal possession of alcohol in a dry area.

KSP and Clay County Sheriff's officers seized a total of 595 cans of beer and 69 bottles of Liquor.

Trooper Josh Wilson is leading the investigation and was assisted by officers of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
