CLINTON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Police say a man driving a stolen car led them on a 21 mile chase, which ended in a crash.
On Tuesday, Kentucky State Police say they received a complaint about an erratic driver on Highway 55 in Adair County.
Police say they later discovered the vehicle that driver was in had been stolen in LaGrange.
Police say a trooper then noticed the vehicle on U.S. 127 in Clinton County, but the driver wouldn't stop when the trooper tried to pull him over.
Police say the driver, identified as 28-year-old Anthony B. Ortkiesse of Fairdale, then led them on a chase through Clinton and Cumberland Counties.
After a 21 mile chase, police say Ortkiesse lost control of his vehicle, ran off the road, and hit a tree.
Ortkiesse was airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, then arrested by Knoxville Police after he was released from the hospital.
Police say Ortkiesse is awaiting extradition back to Kentucky.
He's been charged with wanton endangerment-police officer.
Kentucky State Police ask any driver who was forced off the road by this vehicle to call Detective Mike Dubree at 270-384-4796.
