CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Somewhere in West Virginia, a winning
lottery ticket was sold for the massive Powerball jackpot.
The Powerball Web site says the 276.3 million dollar jackpot winning ticket was sold in the Mountain State.
In December 2002, a local ticket holder won an even bigger pot. That's when Jack Whittaker won the 314.9 million dollar jackpot.
The site says nearly 2 million other players won prizes totaling more than $12 million.
The winning numbers were six, 22, 42, 43 and 47. The Powerball was 16 and the Power Play was two. The estimated jackpot for Wednesday is 15 million dollars.
