Students from Powell County High School had the day off from class on Tuesday to remember two fallen students.

15-year-old Brian Rowland and 14-year-old Billy Eversole were fishing Friday night when they went in to the water. Emergency crews found their bodies in the pond on Saturday.

Both teens attended Powell County High School where they were members of the football team.

"They weren't just my friends, they were my brothers, both of them," said Andrew Ledford, a friend and teammate to both boys.

Funerals for both boys were held on Tuesday afternoon.

Billy Eversole's funeral was held at Powell County High School at 11am Tuesday morning.

"Billy wasn't scared of anybody and he would do anything to help a friend in need," said David Crowe, a friend and teammate to Eversole.

Brian Rowland's funeral was held in Winchester at 1pm.

"Brian always had a smile on his face, laughing all the time," Ledford said of his friend.

"We will miss them so much, school just won't be the same," said Crowe.

"I will miss them boys but I will always have the memories we made, they are in my heart," said Ledford

Brian Rowland was laid to rest at Clarmont Memorial Gardens, in Winchester.

Billy Eversole was laid to rest at Sparks Cemetery in Stanton.

I just love them sooooooo much and if their was anything i could do to bring them back i would do it, no matter what is was even if it meant taking my life away from me, i would do it. They were just too young and had a whole life ahead of them. The last time i talked to billy he was very excited about driving and everything and it just absoulely kills me to watch him go....i loved him sooo much. :(

Billy and brian were my best friends. I grew up with Billy for seven years. Billy was like my brother. He was always there for me when i needed help with something. It kills me knowing that he's not here no more when I call his name. Every summer he would call me everyday and ask me if i wanted to go fishing, i said yes every time. Thats all we done together was go fishing and spend the night with each other. No one knows how much i miss Billy. Now everytime i go fishing ill be wishing Billy would be setting there beside me saying,"Cody you an't gunna catch nothing, you might as well give up, Cause ill be the one who catches the biggest one". He was always the one who would take up for me even if i was in the wrong. We had alot of fun together. I love Billy and Brian so much. I would do anything to have them back. Billy and Brian will always be in my heart til the day im gone. My heart goes out to there family and friends. I miss both of them. Billy, Brian RIP. I love you guys.

first of all my heart goes out to the parents and family of these boys. I don't know what it is like to lose a child and I couldn't imagine. secondly, it goes out to all of the friends and classmates and maybe even girlfriends. when I was in high school I had two close friends die on the same weekend but in different places. one was hit by a train while walking home on the tracks and the one I was to close to was shoot in the head by someone at a party. which was a crime never solved. so that I can feel the pain you guys feel and it gets easier but never goes away. the memories will get you through it . God bless you all.

These guys meant the world to alot of people. They could bring a smile to anyones face. Both were very well liked. And, stars our football team. The boys had bright futures. But sadly there no longer with us. They will be sadly missed...but NEVER forgotten. And if theres a foot ball team up there in heaven I'm sure there on it showin there Powell Co. spirit. My heart goes out to both families. There in my thoughts and prayers. This wholse situation has changed Powell Co. for ever. Knowing that there really gone and we can't see there smiling faces anymore. They may not be down here on earth but there still with us each and every secondof the day. It makes you think. In the blink of an eye your best friends can be gone. Just like that. Gone forever. So live each day to the fullest. And, every second like its your last. Seeing there chairs in the class room empty will send chills down your spine. They left Fri. with a goodbye see ya Monday never expecting what would happen. I ♥ Em Both
