Very slow moving showers and thunderstorms will move into our area overnight and Sunday. The potential for flooding will be heightened in southern and eastern Kentucky.
A year and a half after a crash that killed a Lexington woman, a man faced a judge on reckless homicide charges.
Joe Shepperson, 20, was recently indicted by a Fayette County grand jury for the 2006 crash that killed Kathleen Torok, 46. He plead not guilty to those charges Friday.
Police say Shepperson ran a red light at New Circle and Boardwalk and crashed his ice truck into Torok's BMW.
Court records state Shepperson was speeding, his truck was overweight, and he admitted to smoking marijuana the night before.
Commonwealth Attorney Ray Larson refused to prosecute the case calling it a terrible accident, but Lexington police and Torok's family wanted criminal charges filed.
