LYNCH, Ky. (AP) - The mayor of a small southeastern Kentucky town has resigned after saying he couldn't get cooperation from the city council.
Bob Collier submitted his resignation as mayor of Lynch on Friday. He took office 15 months ago.
Collier says the hours for the job, the stress of trying to work with an uncooperative council and a lack of city funds proved to be too much.
Council member John Adams says the resignation was a surprise and he hopes Collier reconsiders the decision.
