Police find synthetic drugs, money during raid at tobacco store

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky State Police say they found synthetic drugs, money, and an illegal gambling operation while serving a search warrant at a tobacco store Thursday.

Police showed up at the Discount Tobacco Store at Shoppers Village Plaza in Winchester Thursday afternoon, with the warrant.

Police say they obtained the warrant after making several purchases of synthetic drugs from the store.

Once inside, police say they found around 2,000 packages of synthetic drugs, and $51,605 in cash, along with eight gambling machines.

During the investigation, police charged 53-year-old James Clevenger, of Winchester, with trafficking in a controlled substance first degree.
