Sheriff's daughter accused of trying to shoot him

OWEN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A woman faces charges after police say she tried to shoot her father, who's also a county sheriff.

Kentucky State Police arrested 35-year-old Heather Hammond Thursday afternoon.

Investigators say Hammond pointed a loaded gun at her father, Owen County Sheriff Zemer Hammond.

However, they say when Heather Hammond tried to shoot, the gun jammed, and wouldn't fire.

Heather Hammond has been charged with attempted murder and wanton endangerment.
