Some storms are possible during the morning and afternoon on Tuesday. Damaging winds and flooding will be the main threats. With an already soaked ground, expect strong winds to easily bring down some trees.
Nicholasville's Lake Mingo Park will soon be a lot safer thanks to one man.
J.C. Bourne was brutally beaten and robbed in the Park last year. Since then, he has been on a crusade to get the city commissioners to get more lights at the park.
Bourne had been told no nearly five times. But his persistence paid off Thursday night. Bourne asked again, and the commissioners agreed to support funding for more lights and better security.
The estimated cost is about $3,500. There is no word on when the installation of the lights will begin.
