LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Crews worked through the night to prepare for Thunder Over Louisville even though a chance of rain threatened to put a damper on the show.
Derby Festival Communications Director Aimee Boyd says the air show is expected to begin as scheduled at 2:30 p.m. and fireworks are expected to go off starting at 9:30 p.m.
Thunder Over Louisville is Louisville's signature event of the Kentucky Derby Festival.
Military aircraft are set to fly over the Ohio River in the afternoon and a 30-minute fireworks show, billed as the largest in North America, is planned for Saturday night.
