Lynch Mayor Changes Mind, Will Not Resign
... earlier cited lack of coperation with council, lack of funds

LYNCH, Ky. (AP) - The mayor of a small eastern Kentucky town dropped plans to resign two weeks after saying he would walk away from the job.

Lynch Mayor Bob Collier attributed the change of heart to a desire to serve the voters that elected him 15 months ago.

Collier told the city council on March 28 that he planned to quit. Collier said at the time that a lack of cooperation between the mayor's office and council and a lack of city funds drove the decision.

City officials said Collier would return to work on Monday.

Maybe they should force him out now instead on a vote of lack of trust and faith in him. After all we can actually control the local government if they have hissy fits and behave emmotionally and before they think about long term consequences.
