A Tennessee woman is dead after getting hit by a car in Whitley County.
Police say a car traveling south on I-75 crossed the median and flipped over near the 2 mile marker. That's near the state line.
Police say neither the driver, nor the passenger in the car were wearing seat belts and both were thrown from the car. The passenger was thrown into the northbound lanes and was then hit by another vehicle.
The unoccupied car then slammed into a semi truck.
Both the drivers of both cars were taken to the hospital, but we don't know how badly they were hurt.
The victim has been identified as 51-year-old Linda Kay Obringer of Carryville, TN. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
I-75 northbound was shut down for five hours on Monday night and into Tuesday morning while crews worked to investigate the crash. All lanes are now back open.
