Transy Students Rally To Keep Fellow Student From Deportation

Hundreds of students gathered on the campus of Transylvania University on Thursday, in an effort to keep one of their own in the country.

Lino Nakwa, now a student at Transy, was twelve years old when he was kidnapped, tortured, and watched his father get murdered by a rebel group in the Sudan. He escaped to the U.S.

Now, the government is denying his request for a green card because officials claim he received "military-type training."

So, fellow students held a phone-a-thon on Thursday, hoping to get the attention of Kentucky representatives in Congress.
