Richmond store to close after 75 years in business

RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - After 75 years in business, a well-known Madison County store will soon be closing its doors for good.

Jett & Hall men's clothing store has been a main-stay in downtown Richmond, on Main Street.

Owner David Jett says several factors helped him decide that it's time to hang up the store's suits, ties, and men's hats for the last time.

"I've reached an age where I feel like it's necessary, and the nature of the business has changed," Jett said. "It's difficult for me at my age to keep up with the technology in business today, particularly in advertising and marketing."

Jett & Hall plans to stay open throughout the holidays.

David Jett says that he does expect to close the store in mid-January.
