LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Along with the UK basketball team's win over Lafayette, UK fans also celebrated another win Friday night.
For the third year in a row, Kentucky has defeated Tennessee in the Big Blue Crush Blood Drive.
Kentucky won by only 53 pints, 3,160 to 3,107.
"This is the sweetest victory yet. Thanks to our dedicated donors we now have a good blood supply heading into the holidays, and as an added bonus we beat the Vols for the third year in a row," said Martha Osborne, Executive Director of Marketing and Recruitment for Kentucky Blood Center.
This was the 25th year of the blood drive. Each side now has 12 wins, with one tie.
