Rounds of showers and storms continue to move through the region. This action will slowly wind down in the coming hours.
A Lexington woman, accused of dumping her baby in the trash appeared in court on Thursday afternoon.
Her attorney told the judge Brown will waive her preliminary hearing meaning the case will now go to the grand jury.
Police say she threw her baby in a dumpster behind a gas station along I-64 in Shelbyville. Police are still looking for a woman, caught on surveillance video, who may have been a witness to the alleged crime.
Police say they found the newborn baby's body because of a tip from doctors at a Lexington hospital. Brown reportedly went to the hospital and doctors alerted police because they said there were obvious signs she'd given birth.
Brown has pleaded not guilty to murder. She is being held on $250,000 cash bond.
