CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Police have arrested two people in connection to the murder of an elderly eastern Kentucky man.

Police have charged 40-year-old Joshua Morsch with murder and robbery, and 42-year-old Kathy Stewart with complicity.

The victim, 74-year-old Earl Woods, was found dead last Thursday in his home on Bells Fork Road in Clay County.

Police say he was beaten and stabbed.

Investigators tell WKYT Morsch was Woods' neighbor, and Stewart is Morsch's girlfriend.

Police say Morsch was trying to steal prescription drugs from Woods.

They say Woods then put up a fight, which led to his death.
